Feb 11 – Year of Science: Science and Sport Expo

We don’t always associate lab coats and beakers with high performance athletes, but the connection between sport and science is closer than we think. Science is all around us. You’ll find it in the most unlikely places, and in the most exciting careers of tomorrow. In fact, right here in British Columbia, some of the world’s leading sports scientists are helping athletes push limits and break records. That’s why the Province of British Columbia has proclaimed the 2010-2011 school year as the Year of Science. By working with leaders in the science and sports community, we’re helping raise awareness and promote a passion for science to better prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s jobs.

Come check out the Career Roundtables, the Science of Sport Exhibit Area, the Skill Zone Activity Tent, Interactive Sport Demos and the many great presenters.
