SEP 28: SCWIST Shoreline Cleanup

Meet new people, get some exercise, and do something good for the environment. This is an opportunity to meet SCWIST members and others interested in Science and Tech in a “meet-up” group activity and head to a local cafe for tea or coffee after the cleanup.

Date: Saturday, September 28, 2013
Time: 11:00 AM
Place: Shoreline from Trafalgar St. to Margaret Piggot Park

This is a small stretch of natural rocky coastline that is home to several shorebirds and is roughly 500-600 m. The area is not as well used as the sand beaches of Kitsilano but still brings a number of visitors, joggers, picnickers and so on.
Site Coordinator is Sarah Beley. We can always use more help, feel free to invite friends and family to participate in this cleanup. Stephanie McInnis and other SCWIST members will be joining with Sarah’s group to clean this stretch of shore.

Register here for the Shoreline Cleanup and SCWIST meet-up.
