Nov 26: Brown Bags UBC: Make Possible

The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) has launched its Make Possible Mentoring Network, as part of the Government of Canada’s Status of Women Initiative to advance women.  Make Possible Project Manager, Cheryl Kristiansen, will demonstrate how you can connect, collaborate and lead through its dedicated mentoring network in STEM.  Participants will learn how to find a mentor, be a mentor, develop skills, share experiences and create leadership opportunities.

Gwen Gnazdowsky from One Conversation will facilitate hands-on exercises to empower women through mentorship and develop skills to create successful mentoring relationships. Interactive group discussion will create a supportive learning environment and networking exercises will help build a collaborative community.  Participants will learn how to market themselves in 30 seconds and how to make an effective request.

This event will take place on Wednesday, November 25 during 12:15pm – 1:45pm at UBC Campus. Click here for more information and to RSVP.
