Organization Summary:

GEERing Up! is a non-profit, student-run organization which delivers dynamic, hands-on, programming in science, engineering and technology (SET) to over 5000 youth each year. In May and June, we deliver engineering and science workshops to elementary schools and after-school programs (Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver, Girl Guides of Canada). In July-August, we deliver summer day camps for youth and children entering grades 2-10. The camps, held at UBC, offer a dynamic mix of science, engineering and technology demonstrations, hands-on projects, design competitions and lab tours. With the support of WWEST, GEERing Up! offers a special Girls Only! week of camps and workshops for the Girl Guides of Canada.

GEERing Up! has received funding to increase the geographical reach of its program. Starting in 2012, we will be delivering workshops and camps in Kelowna and Prince George.
