WIM’s Run for the Cure

During this networking event, we will also be launching WIM’s Run for the Cure Event.

“For the fifth consecutive year, the WIM team will be participating in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure on September 30, 2012. The Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run that raises funds for the foundation in the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause. In the past five years we have raised over $145,000 and won the Corporate Spirit Award in 2010. This year, we hope to continue giving hope and saving lives globally. Our goal is to have a team of 25 runners/walkers and collaboratively raise $25,000 for this worthy cause.

We need you to help us reach this goal! If you are interested in joining the team, please go to visit our website at www.tinyurl.com/runwimvan  and click the SIGN UP link. Each team member will commit to raising $150 (includes administration costs and a free team t-shirt).

The fun doesn’t end there!

We are excited to announce our June event at Smiley’s Public House – A Beer & Burger Fundraiser. Tickets are $25 each and include entry, a burger, and a beer (Granville Island or Phillips Draft). Join us to network with fellow peers while raising money for our team efforts. You can buy tickets online at www.wimbeerburger.eventbrite.com  at via email through runwimvan@gmail.com to arrange pick up of hard copy tickets. There will be prizes and a chance to win a Wall of Wine, generously donated by Weatherhaven.

Any questions, please contact Team Captain – Karoline Monkvik at runwimvan@gmail.com.

Looking forward to having you join the team and our fundraising efforts!

This will be our last Brown Bag event before the summer.  There will be no Brown Bag events in July and August.  But look for a new format and changes in September!!”
