Feb 17: Deadline for participation in Women in STEM study

You are invited to participate in the research study “Mother to Daughter – Women in STEM”.
This study is conducted by Prof. Donatille Mujawamariya and Prof. Catherine Mavriplis, and is funded by the NSERC / Pratt & Whitney Canada Chair for Women in Science and Engineering.

Study participants will be interviewed about how the participant’s mother influenced (or did not influence) their decision to work or study in STEM.

Many studies indicate the importance of the parents’ roles in the career choices of their children, but very few have pinpointed the influence of the mother in the career choice of her daughter(s). The participation rate of girls and women interested in studies and/or careers in STEM has not increased in recent years. A better knowledge and understanding of that specific influence could allow defining strategies that may change this trend.

Please contact Michelle Boucher, R.A. at mbouc116@uottawa.ca if you would like to participate.
