Article: Fields Medal mathematics prize won by woman for first time in its history

Maryam Mirzakhani, an Iranian maths professor at Stanford University, has been awarded the highest honour a mathematician can attain. This is the first time in history that the Fields Medal (considered the Nobel prize for mathematics) has been awarded to a woman.
