Community Based Experiential Learning

UBC currently offers several courses with Community Based Experiential Learning (CBEL) through the UBC-Community Learning Initiative (UBC-CLI).

CBEL gives students the chance to apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom to projects driven by community priorities, or to activities with non-profit and for-profit organsations, and public schools. Benefits of this include applying theoretical knowledge to enhance students’ graps of it, investing in communities to make a positive difference, and challenging students in new learning environments.

WWEST supports this initiative through several engineering courses:

Our Strategic Partners include:  Faculty of Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering, Community Learning Initiative, UBC

To find out more about CBEL, visit the UBC-CLI’s website.

A full listing of CBEL-based courses can be found here.
