Purdue University experiences increase in first-year female engineering enrollment

Purdue University’s College of Engineering reported a 31% increase of first-year female engineering enrollment in 2011/2012 compared the 2010/2011 year.

The director of the college’s Women in Engineering Program (WIEP), Beth Holloway, indicates one factor that likely caused the increase was how Purdue’s faculty, staff and students talked about engineering to high school students.
