The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES) have joined forces to host the 16th International Conference for Women Engineers and Scientists (ICWES16), to be held in Los Angeles, California from October 23-25 2014.
More than 6,500 women are anticipated to attend from around the world and will exchange ideas and advocate for change to build a better future worldwide.
Over three days, the international track will explore three themes:
1) Innovations, research and achievements in various fields of engineering, science and technology.
2) New ideas and solutions to contemporary problems including climate change, water management, renewable energy and sustainability.
3) Attracting, developing, promoting and retaining women engineers and scientists.
Content is being sought for the International Track for various audiences, themes and formats and the submission deadline is December 31, 2013. A concerted effort is being undertaken to obtain sponsorships and funding to provide travel grants for selected speakers.
