You are invited to a special screening of Miss Representation, co-hosted by the CFLS and the UBC Law Women’s Caucus. Written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the film exposes how mainstream media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence. The film challenges the media’s limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful herself.
This event is taking place at the Norm Theatre at UBC, on Monday, February 27th at 6:30pm (film starts at 7pm). We will be collecting charitable donations for the Because I Am A Girl campaign. Please see the facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/111259062332526/ for more information. This event is open to everyone, so please pass this invitation along if possible!
