“Leadership Workshop Aims to Retain Women in Mid-level Careers”, written by Jaime Kammerzell, explores the reason trailored training courses are necessary, and are supportive, to women engineers. The development workshops aim to present information, increase awareness of factors that influence career and leadership success, help women gain confidence in making career and leadership development choices, and provide networking opportunities.

I am searching for a job as Industrial engineer in or around Coquitlam. Can you mentoring me.
Hi Sara!
We are so excited that you want to work as an Industrial Engineer! We encourage you to attend workshops or networking events to get advice and insight from women in the field. For example, if you are an undergraduate student you might want to consider attending the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) event that they will be hosted on March 12th. It is a mentoring event, and you can read more on their website: https://wie.sites.olt.ubc.ca/2012/02/26/women-in-science-and-engineering-conference/ . It might also be beneficial to subscribe to our newspaper for networking opportunities or workshops that may benefit you. We advertise events for WWEST and WWEST Council Members – both provide a number of opportunities to develop skills and network locally. Read more on their websites here: https://wwest.mech.ubc.ca/wwest-partners/current-projects/ & https://wwest.mech.ubc.ca/wwest-council/ . Although they less frequently post job opportunities, they do provide opportunities to develop skills and learn more about available resources, as well as network, which may help with the job search.
Best of Luck!
Andrea
