UBC Professors Celebrate International Women’s Day

First observed in 1911, International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrates women’s achievements, roles and contributions. According to the UN, this year’s theme is “Empower Women – End Hunger and Poverty.”

This year, a number of UBC faculty, including Mechanical Engineering’s very own Dr. Elizabeth Croft, offered heartfelt and inspiring words for their female students during International Women’s Day, March 8. Read their insipring messages here
