The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Canada annually awards the IEEE Canada Women in Engineering prize to the nominee who has demonstrated substantial success in her undergraduate program and volunteer service to the IEEE. The prize as a whole recognizes the excellence in young women engineer professionals.
This year, the prize was awarded to Zahra Ahmadian, Chair of Women In Engineering Group at IEEE Vancouver.
” Zahra’s immense commitment as an IEEE volunteer has given her the opportunity to organize seminars and professional workshops for women in engineering. “Through these activities, I have developed leadership, planning, communication and public speaking skills that have been valuable in my academic research.”
