Sept 12: WIE(VR) Workshop “Are You Ready for Your Moment in the Spotlight”

WIE(VR) – Women in Engineering (Vancouver Region) will be hosting an event “Are You Ready for Your Moment in the Spotlight” with Narges Nirumvala on Thursday, September 12th 2013.


Speaker: Narges Nirumvala, Executive Speech Coach, Speaker & Trainer

How often do you get to speak in your current position? If you were a better speaker or communicator how would it impact your career and the opportunities you get? Based on her new book ‘Capture the Spotlight’ Narges’s highly interactive presentation will give you fundamental tools to help you find your authentic voice and step out of the shadows and into the light.

Attendees will learn:
• 3 reasons why public speaking is essential to your professional development and success
• 5 fundamentals of good public speaking
• 3 ways to boost your self-confidence
• How to begin to overcome your own fear and self-doubt
• 2 situations in which you should NEVER use PowerPoint (but people still do)

Speaker Biography

Narges Nirumvala is the Founder and CEO of ExecutiveSpeak Coaching International and author of the public speaking book ‘Capture the Spotlight’ now available on Amazon. She works with corporate leaders, association executives, elected community officials and high-performance teams to help them find their authentic voice, craft persuasive content and communicate with confidence in any public speaking situation from boardroom presentations to conference keynotes. Her writing on the subject has been circulated to 106 countries worldwide.

Narges is often called upon by the media as an expert in her field. She has appeared on numerous media channels including CityTV, Breakfast Television Vancouver, OMNI Television, SUCCESS magazine, the Province, News1130 radio, the Vancouver Courier, Business In Vancouver and many others. Narges believes passionately in sharing her knowledge and experience through mentorship. She is a Mentor with the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs ‘HSBC Mentor Program’ and the Vancouver Board of Trade ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’ program. Narges was a finalist for the ’Women of Worth’ Mompreneur of the Year Award and Spirit, Success & Soul Award. She was also one of only two people in Vancouver short-listed for the Expert Category of the 2012 North America Small Business Influencer Awards sponsored by Blackberry and was a nominee for the 2013 Shorty Awards.
