Article: Is a Career in STEM Really for Me? An 8th Grader’s Perspective

An 8th grader provides some insight as to why she and her friends are not likely to consider a career in STEM.

“Even as we’re being pushed toward engineering, we aren’t being told or shown what engineering is. Instead, we’re assigned simplistic exercises like building bridges out of drinking straws and marshmallows or telling a toy robot to turn left and right.”
