APEGA Resource: Managing Transitions

The Women in APEGA Committee has recently published “Managing Transitions: Before, During and After Leave. A Planning Resource Guide for Employees and Employers.”

This guide was designed to assist APEGA members considering a maternity or parental leave of approximately one year and will be of interest to new mothers and new fathers.  It was also designed to assist their employers and includes checklists for planning and promising practices. Experience has shown that without forethought, rejoining a company or re-entering the workforce can be more challenging than it ought to be.  These principles can also be extended to the more varied circumstances of sabbaticals, education, medical and family care leaves.

APEGA, with the help of the Women in APEGA committee, is actively seeking opportunities to speak about this document at relevant seminars, conferences, or even to companies themselves.  They are also collecting feedback on this document and plan to have another revision issued by the end of 2013
